Dedication: Richard K. Moore Conference Room (Ceremony)

Richard K. Moore (1923-2012) was one of the world's most respected leaders in radar remote sensing of the earth, a field that uses sensors to collect information about the planet's surface. He spent over 30 years on the faculty at KU, where he developed powerful tools that transformed weather forecasting and climate change monitoring. The former Mercury Conference Room, 317 Nichols, is being renamed in his memory.

A brief program will be followed by a plaque unveiling and a reception. Hosts for the ceremony are KU Research, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and the Information & Telecommunication Technology Center.
