Ola Faucher, Director, and Madi Vannaman, Associate Director, KU Human Resources

Thursday August 14, 2014
11:00am - 12:00pm
Simons Laboratories, Auditorium
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) affects KU and all other U.S. universities. The State Employee Health Plan modified eligibility and coverage components of its plans to comply with ACA provisions. Several KU employee groups who were formerly not eligible for the state plan may become ACA-eligible, including student employees (hourly and graduate) and temporary and part-time employees in regular positions with FTE less than 48%. KU has formulated new policies to address the requirements of the law, provide balance with KUs teaching and research missions, and minimize as much as possible the liabilities and administrative burden resulting from ACA.
