Join us for Day 2 of KU Faculty Development Academies - Academic Leadership: Activating Relational Superpowers: Leading with humility, empathy, & dignity
The words “leader” and “leadership” can evoke unrealistic images of the single heroic leader who solves problems and saves the day. These notions often leave us burned out, burdened, and overwhelmed. What if leadership is less about individual status and power, and more about shared relational connections that foster collective wellbeing and workplace flourishing? This session reframes traditional views of “superhuman” leadership and emphasizes relational work that can enhance our sense of purpose, belonging, and joy. Through assessment, reflection, and discussion, participants will focus on the value of humility, empathy, and dignity in their leadership work. This interactive professional development opportunity will help you tailor a new leadership strategy that leans into humanity.
Tuesday, May 19th from 9 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Kansas Union, Malott Room (6th floor)
