At this professional education event, you will learn to:

 

  • Distinguish the essential features of anxiety diagnoses, i.e. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Attacks and Panic Disorder, etc.
  • Differentiate between the way in which adults and children may experience anxiety
  • Identify risk and resilience factors that may impact the development of anxiety disorders
  • Identify what self-compassion is and how it helps regulate anxiety
  • Explore the role of research in understanding the causes of these conditions and in supporting treatment
  • Explore and discuss how COVID-19 and lack of socialization can increase anxiety symptoms
