Air Force Office of Scientific Research Roadshow: Navigating Interactions & Funding Opportunities

Our speaker is Col. Daniel Gallton, chief of the AFOSR's Science & Engineering Division. Gallton leads a team of 52 scientists and engineers in managing a $500 million basic research investment in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force. The AFOSR transitions its discoveries to other components of the Air Force Research Laboratory, as well as to defense industries and other federal agencies.

The AFOSR focuses on research that offers benefits to national war fighting and peace keeping capabilities across four scientific divisions:

• Engineering & Complex Systems: Fundamental and integrated science that advances future air and space flight.
• Information & Networks: Foundational issues in mathematical, information and network-oriented sciences.
• Physical Sciences: Foundational physical science to enable air, space and cyber power.
• Chemistry & Biological Sciences: Innovative fundamental science addressing a broad spectrum of energy-related issues.
