Join us for a conversation and lunch with recent German Studies graduate, Natalie Miller, about her recent research project, experience at KU, and time studying abroad the Universität Regensburg.

Natalie’s research focuses on how the rise of the Alternative für Deutschland party has had a profound impact on the political landscape of contemporary Germany, bringing populist political sentiments to mainstream discourse whilst challenging the country's position as the de-facto leader of the European Union. The AfD’s success legitimizes right-wing extremism in stable and economically prosperous democracies and accentuates concerns for the future of Germany and the European Union.

Natalie graduated from the University of Kansas in 2023 with Bachelors in German Studies and Political Science as well as a Certificate in Global Awareness. Sheis currently working as an intern to United States Representative Sharice Davids.

Please Register for lunch here.
