Born in Lawrence, Kansas, she received a BA in both Studio Art and Native American Studies at Dartmouth College, and an MFA from Yale University in Sculpture. Anna's work challenges "the aesthetic and conceptual notions of Native American Art", often using biting wit that illustrates the "hilarity and horror" of contemporary culture. She has recently been awarded a Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship, Louis Comfort Tiffany Award, and a Creative Capital Grant. She has an extensive exhibition career, including Tilton Gallery in NYC, the National Portrait Gallery, the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Anna is Greek, Creek and an enrolled citizen of the Navajo Nation.
