Join the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX for Belonging @ KU: Rural Life, Culture, and Community on Thursday, September 18th, where we’ll explore life in rural Kansas and across the country. We will examine how decisions made at both the state and federal levels directly impact rural communities, affecting healthcare, education, infrastructure, and more. This session will offer insight into common perceptions of rural living and the unique experiences that these communities face. This conversation will also highlight shared cultural norms among residents and differences between rural and urban areas.

The Belonging @ KU series showcases the innovation and excellence of University of Kansas scholars and practitioners, emphasizing KU’s commitment to fostering a dynamic community where all individuals can thrive. The Belonging @ KU: Rural Life, Culture, and Community event speakers are Dr. Tom Mueller, the Director of the Kansas Center for Rural Health, and Dr. Donna Ginther, a distinguished professor of economics and Director of the Institute for Policy & Social Research at KU.

This event is free and open to all KU students, staff, faculty, and affiliates. Registration is required. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all KU sponsored events. If you require reasonable accommodations in order to participate, please contact the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX at belonging@ku.edu
