DESCRIPTION:COURSE DESCRIPTION: \n\nThe purpose of an investigation is to b
 uild upon available evidence and information to prove the elements of a par
 ticular crime. The investigation should lead to the apprehension of offende
 rs and/or recovery of property through effective gathering\, evaluation and
  documentation of facts. The investigation may lead to the arrest and succe
 ssful prosecution of the case and/or recovery of stolen property.\n\nThis c
 ourse will cover the various aspects of case management including case prio
 ritization\, follow-up investigations\, documentation\, time management\, d
 eveloping contacts and working with prosecutors. Attendees will be required
  to actively participate in classroom discussion and share information and 
 ideas on how to approach building case files and preparing for criminal pro
 secutions. \n\n \n\nCORE COMPETENCY: \n\nParticipants will employ best prac
 tices as they investigate any crime from its beginning to its eventual disp
 osition\, either as an individual\, or as part of an investigatory team.   
     \n\nCOURSE OBJECTIVES: \n\nParticipants will understand the need to pri
 oritize assigned cases and utilize good case management practices. Particip
 ants will be able to recognize detailed\, accurate case documentation.Parti
 cipants will understand the need to develop a working relationship with pro
 secuting attorneys. Participants will discuss how to build case files for e
 ffective prosecutions.Participants will identify various investigative reso
 urces such as computer data bases\, personal contacts with LEO's from other
  agencies and jurisdictions\, etc.  \n\nINSTRUCTIONAL METHODS: \n\nLecture
