Join the KU Center for East Asian Studies and our partners for an evening of festivities and friendship to ring in the Year of the Horse. Enjoy East Asian musical performances, dance, crafts, and more. There will be activities for children and adults alike. Bring the whole family! 

 

This event is FREE to the public, but giveaways are first come first served. 

 

RED ENVELOPE GIVEAWAYS (First 200 attendees): area business coupons, fortune cards, and 3D printed horse pendants, and more.

 

GIFT BAGS (First 50 attendees in traditional attire): red envelopes, candy, snacks, and more.

 

PERFORMANCES: KU Taiko, KU Karisma (K-pop dance), KU Lion Dance, Lawrence Art Center Youth Dance Gropu (Chinese dance), House of Dragons (Korean fan dance), and Japanese musical duet by Yuka Naito (harp) and Jun Brewer (violin)

 

ACTIVITIES and FUNDRAISERS: Hoo Hey How/Bầu cua cá cọp, button making, Nenga-hagaki (Japanese new year postcards), Chinese calligraphy, horse origami, coloring, East Asian trivia, raffles by student organizations, and more.

 

SILENT AUCTION of donated items (will post online before festival)
