Healthy democracy fosters an exchange of ideas across experiences and knowledge. Rooting discussion in shared reading and collaborative understanding makes space for this exchange to emerge. Engaged Reading promotes learning and inquiry across populations at the University, through common texts. Inspired by the KU Reads / Common Book program, and curated with goals of generous and generative conversation, this series features broadly relevant texts for reading alongside facilitated discussion with scholars and practitioners in related fields.
To register and reserve a copy of the book, courtesy of KU Libraries, email thecommons@ku.edu.
Supported by KU Libraries, the Hall Center for the Humanities, the Spencer Museum of Art, the Institute for Policy and Social Research, The Commons, and the University Honors Program.
