This workshop will cover basic assessment concepts for faculty who are newly responsible for the management of student learning in their departments. Topics will include the five-step assessment cycle; guidance on crafting meaningful inquiries into student learning; modalities of assessment tools and approaches; and recommendations for building department-level momentum around change initiatives.
This 60-minute workshop will be divided evenly between presentation and active discussion, with an aim to address specific concerns raised by workshop participants. The maximum enrollment for each session is 30 individuals. The workshop will not be recorded, but Joshua Potter is available for direct consultation at firstname.lastname@example.org
