Please join us for the latest in our weekly colloquium series. This week, Dr. Jackie VAdjunec from the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oklahoma presents, "Converging Cosmologies & Shifting Landscapes: An Academic and Personal Journey Towards Resilient SocioEcological Systems (SES)." 
Our colloquiums are held on Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 in Malott 2001. There is a pre-lecture reception with refreshments in Malott 3022. All are welcome.

In this talk, Dr. Vadjunec will discuss their personal and academic evolution and growth towards socio-ecological systems (SES) thinking. First, they will situate their work from the changing landscapes of Youngstown, OH, to an awakening in the Brazilian Amazon. Next they will reflect on their work at the National Science Foundation on SES-related programs. Lastly, they will make a case for converging cosmologies across landscapes to foster more resilient SES in the Amazon, the Great Plains, and beyond.
