Clinical labs are staffed by clinical laboratory scientists (also known as CLS, MLS, or MT). These highly-trained professionals analyze patient samples to provide the data for diagnosis and treatment. They work in hospital labs and clinics, reference labs, forensic labs, veterinary clinics, industrial research labs and many other places. The bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science is the only program at KU that provides the qualifications you need to work in a clinical laboratory. After completing two years of prerequisites, you'll finish with two additional years of study at KU Medical Center.
