Throughout his career in public service, Senator Bob Dole saw the rapid expansion of our nation’s space program, including the Apollo 11 moon landing, the Space Shuttle program, and the Hubble Space Telescope project.

Drawing on the themes found in the 2026-27 KU Common Book, Orbital by Samantha Harvey, this special exhibit showcases documents, photographs, and other artifacts from the Dole Archives illustrating America’s history in space exploration.
