 nt will take place in the Spencer Museum of Art.\n\n \n\nDiscussion facili
 tated by Shannon Stewart (Theatre & Dance) and Maggie Unverzagt Goddard (M
 useum Studies)\n\nWhat do visual and performing arts reveal about ideas of
  freedom?How do they reflect and inform larger societal notions of freedom
 ?How do curators guide conversations about meaning across cultures?Healthy
  democracy fosters an exchange of ideas across experiences and knowledge. 
 Rooting discussion in shared reading and collaborative understanding makes
  space for this exchange to emerge. Engaged Reading promotes learning and 
 inquiry across populations at the University\, through common texts. Inspi
 red by the KU Reads / Common Book program\, and curated with goals of gene
 rous and generative conversation\, this series features broadly relevant t
 exts for reading alongside facilitated discussion with scholars and practi
