About this Event
1506 Engel Road, Lawrence, KS 66045
This Engaged Reading event will feature Jeremy David Engels's "On Mindful Democracy A Declaration of Interdependence to Mend a Fractured World." This event will take place at Nunemaker Center and is presented in partnership with the University Honors Program.
Healthy democracy fosters an exchange of ideas across experiences and knowledge. Rooting discussion in shared reading and collaborative understanding makes space for this exchange to emerge. Engaged Reading promotes learning and inquiry across populations at the University, through common texts. Inspired by the KU Reads / Common Book program, and curated with goals of generous and generative conversation, this series features broadly relevant texts for reading alongside facilitated discussion with scholars and practitioners in related fields. This event is presented in conjunction with KU Reads: A Common Book Experience.
To register and reserve a copy of the book, courtesy of the University Honors Program email thecommons@ku.edu. For accommodation, please contact honors@ku.edu.
Supported by KU Libraries, the Hall Center for the Humanities, the Spencer Museum of Art, the Institute for Policy and Social Research, the University Honors Program, and The Commons.
