Please join us in-person on Monday, May 16 at the Lawrence Public Library for a talk, “Freedom Suits, Families and Reckoning with the History of US Slavery.” Professor Will Thomas, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, will speak about his book, A Question of Freedom: The Families Who Challenged Slavery from the Nation’s Founding to the Civil War.
A conversation will be moderated by Camilah Hicks, PhD student in Social Welfare, and Alicia Houser, PhD student in History, University of Kansas.
Q&A with the audience will follow.
