General Practices

During Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees install clay idols of Lord Ganesha in homes and public spaces, offering prayers, sweets like modaks, and performing daily aartis. Communities organize music, dance, and cultural events, fostering unity and joy. On the final day, known as Anant Chaturdashi, idols are immersed in water during Ganesha Visarjan, symbolizing the cycle of creation and dissolution and bidding farewell to the deity.

Description

The festival dates are based on the Hindu lunar calendar, specifically starting on the fourth day (Chaturthi) of the Bhadrapada month, which typically falls in August or September in the Gregorian calendar.
