(Part of the KU Department of Spanish & Portuguese's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month)

Our second event for Hispanic Heritage Month features a thought-provoking talk titled "Graphic/Non-Graphic Violence in Contemporary Mexican Cinema," presented by José Luis Solis. This presentation explores the portrayal of violence in Mexican cinema, offering perspectives from both within the film industry and from an academic standpoint.

After the talk, we invite attendees to a reception, creating an ideal environment for networking and further discussion. This event is designed to deepen our understanding of the complex themes addressed in contemporary Mexican cinema.
