DESCRIPTION:Join us for a screening of Green Border (2023) Poland with spec
ial introduction by Professor Nathan Wood. About the film: Agnieszka Holla
nd’s 2023 film Green Border explores the intimate and often brutal human
experience of a cynically-manufactured crisis along the densely forested
and swampy border of Poland and Belarus\, where refugees from the Middle E
ast and Africa\, lured by Alexander Lukashenko’s false promises of easy
crossing into the EU\, instead found themselves in a harsh environment\, d
angerously caught between two regimes. the movie offers a harrowing portra
it of real-life callousness and courage in the face of geopolitical gamesm
 anship and global inequality.
