Join the Lawrence Public Library for an introductory lesson in the Arabic language with Aya Fayed, Communications & Outreach Coordinator with the Kansas African Studies Center.

This session will cover a brief history of the language and highlight the linguistic diversity of Arabic, one of the world's most widely spoken languages. Participants will also learn and practice some useful phrases to get started speaking.

Whether your interest is sparked by the excitement of the World Cup (with Algeria's national team staying in Lawrence!) or simply a desire to learn a new language, you won’t want to miss this opportunity.
