This annual forum, organized by the East Asian Library, provides a venue for faculty and graduate students to share their research interests and challenges. The forum was established in 2009, with the goal of creating an East Asian Studies research-community and information exchange venue. It was renamed in memory of KU Professor Emeritus John Dardess, an eminent scholar of Chinese history and annual contributor to the forum, who passed away in 2020.

This year, there will be 20 participants--6 faculty and 14 graduate students (see program below). Participants have five minutes to present an “elevator pitch talk” and introduce their research to the public. The forum is open to everyone interested in learning about current research on East Asia. Registration for attendees is not required but encouraged. If you have already registered as a speaker, you do not need to reregister. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
