The Queer Empowerment Summit is a leadership program which aims to provide a space for queer and trans students to become a community of confident, active, and intersectional leaders.  Hosted through a partnership between the Student Involvement and Leadership Center and The Center for Sexuality & Gender Diversity, QUEST runs throughout the academic year and includes workshops, conferences, panels, and more all geared towards social justice-minded leadership and prepares students for leadership roles across and beyond campus including: student organization leadership, Safe Zone facilitation and development, and ongoing leadership.

At QUEST, we recognize that leadership takes many forms both inside and outside student organizations and offices on campus. The only requirement is that you bring a desire to become a leader in the community, you do not need to be in a leadership role. Any student can get involved, but this program is geared towards creating and celebrating the queer and trans leaders of tomorow.

This year’s QUEST theme is activist strategies for leadership, so the program will focus on social justice issues and leading through and beyond them.

Space for this program is limited. To sign up, please email The Center at sgd@ku.edu
