The Office of Research is hosting a discussion about achieving water security in Kansas. This meeting is in response to Gov. Laura Kelly’s directive to develop a multi-decade strategic plan for the state’s water resources centered on the five guiding principles of the Kansas Water Plan (.pdf) . We invite KU faculty with expertise in water resources across disciplines to come together and discuss how our individual and collective knowledge can contribute to strategically planning the future of water in Kansas.

RSVP by Feb. 27

Belinda Sturm, interim vice chancellor for research, will deliver opening remarks addressing the governor’s charge and commitment to water security. The goal of this meeting is to determine how KU can uniquely contribute to strategic planning for water and identify resources needed to advance understanding, predicting and sustaining water quality and quantity in Kansas for decades to come.
