https://kutheatre.com/milking-christmasKU Theatre & Dance closes out fall term with Milking Christmas: A New Musical, which was co-created by Ryan McCall, the Department's accompanist, musical director and lecturer.
Macey Maid-a-Milking seems to be the only person in all of Christmastown to sense that something strange is going on: toys are coming out wrong, soldiers are out in force; and there must be an awful lot of naughty children because coal production is higher than ever. Driven by a mission to keep the holiday perfect, Macey soon finds herself in a lot of trouble - with the future of Christmas hanging in the balance.
Milking Christmas was originally produced and developed by The Living Room Theatre in Kansas City. It was created by Friend Dog Studios and Ryan McCall. KU's production will be directed by Michelle Miller, a KU Lecturer and regional director and educator. Don't sleep on this holiday musical and commentary on corporate greed.
In addition to in-person performances, Milking Christmas will also be livestreamed Dec. 2 and Dec. 6 via Showtix.
The University Theatre encourages pre-purchase of tickets. Order tickets online at kutheatre.com, by phone at 785-864-3982, or in person at the box office in Murphy Hall Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm. Discounted tickets available for KU retirees, current faculty/staff, students from KU or Haskell Indian Nations University, or groups.
This production is not recommended to those who wish to maintain their belief in the goodness of Santa Claus.
Come be part of KU Theatre's centennial year! We'll see you at the theatre for this holiday romp!
