The Office of Faculty Affairs invites all new faculty to our New Faculty Foundations 1.0 event: On the Front Lines: Connecting Students with Resources and Support at KU. Our New Faculty Foundations 1.0 are designed with first-year faculty in mind, but are open to all faculty within their first several years at KU, with relevant topics geared towards all New Faculty experiences. The New Faculty Foundations series offers opportunities to learn about relevant and timely topics as they intersect with the faculty role, as well as time to connect with New Faculty peers over light refreshments.

On the Front Lines: Connecting Students with Resources and Support at KU

Student health and well-being are essential to student success, and faculty are often on the front lines as students seek advice and support in navigating learning challenges and juggling academic and life commitments. Departments in the Office of Student Affairs provide extensive resources and support services for students, ranging from Student Housing to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) to the KU Student Engagement Center. This session will feature Associate Vice Provost for Student Affairs, Jennifer Wamelink, and Director of Counseling and Psychological Servies, Chris Corbett, who will share the successes and challenges our students are facing, as well as provide key resources faculty can use to encourage student engagement and belonging.
