About this Event
View map Free EventPresented each fall and spring, Senior Showcase is the Dance majors' capstone project where they present their in-depth, embodied research. Drawing on their work in the Department's choreography series, these students coproduce the concert, audition dancers, find music, and procure costuming. This semester's choreographers are Hope Casner, Sydney Ebner, Kacie Herbeck, Brittany Moss, Lindsay Skinner, and Rory Sweedler.
Featured alongside the Showcase, the Jayhawk Performance Lab will present a student-led festival of short works on a wide range of subject matter. The Librarian by Hansol Jung is directed by Tara Burgat, Only Yesterday, a New Musical by Stephanie Leah Evans, Amanda Freedman, and Jonah Greene is directed by Jonah Greene, and 153 A 10-Minute Drama by Steven G. Martin is directed by Connor L. Maloney. All feature student cast members. JPL is an incubator for young creators to tell stories with messages and voices that resonate with them. Expect each play to run about 10 minutes.
The showcase/JPL will be livestreamed and presented to a limited, in-person audience. Plan now to witness the artistry of our young stars, so later you will be able to say "I knew them when..."
In-person performances are April 25 through 28. This production is offered free of charge. Additionally, a livestream will be available free of charge for the 7:30pm April 27 performance and the 2:30pm April 28 performance. Visit the Box Office in Murphy Hall to pick up your free, in-person tickets (limited availablity).
