KU Libraries is looking forward to working with our 2023 Sprints cohort – Areli Marina (Art History) and Sam Yates Meier (Architecture and Design) - on a pair of innovative research and teaching projects. Sprints Week dedicates a team of librarians to a selected project over five intensive days, during which connections are made to services and resources available that enrich teaching and research. The purpose of this structured opportunity is for both faculty and librarians to collaborate without distractions to produce a tangible product or outcome.

Sprints Week will take place May 15-19. On the final day, KU Libraries will host a Sprints Showcase in Watson Library’s Three West Reading Room at 11 a.m. Join us to hear about the work of the week and celebrate the work of your colleagues. Marina’s work focuses on “Italian Baptistery After the Year 1,000” and developing an open-source, web-publishing platform for sharing, analyzing and interpreting digital multimedia collections. Meier is working to redesign the History and Philosophy of Design course to center contributions of marginalized people to the field.
