What challenges might they face? Join museum staff for Story Book Science and learn more about the living things of the Sonoran Desert! The KU Natural History Museum’s Education Coordinator, Colleen MacGilvray, will read Bright Star by Yuyi Morales on Saturday, April 9.
During the event, explore topics from the book with specimens and hands-on activities with the museum’s Public Education team. Investigate adaptations of desert animals and study desert specimens up-close, in addition to viewing those on display in the Panorama!
Readings will take place at 10:30am and 11:30am. Specimens and activities are available between 10:30am and 12:00pm. The reading and activities are targeted towards children between the ages of 4 and 8 and their adults, although all are welcome!
NOTE: At least one adult must be present with children throughout the duration of the reading.
