About this Event
This session equips social workers with knowledge to inform their work with and consideration of Family Treatment Courts (FTCs) and these institutions’ impacts on social work practice and on the lives and outcomes of those we serve, particularly parents affected by Substance Use Disorders. Participants will learn about research evaluating FTCs’ outcomes and will consider the contributions of these intervention systems to families’ outcomes, including in/through the child welfare system.
Presenter: Margaret Lloyd Sieger, KUSSW alumnus, will present her research on Family Treatment Courts, as a contribution to the School and as a partner from KU Department of Population Health, where she is now on faculty.
