Sweeney Todd is coming to KU's University Theatre! Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler, from an adaptation by Christopher Bond, directed by Stella Markou, and conducted by Creston Herron.

Returning to London in search of his family after an unjust exile, Sweeney Todd reunites with his box of razors and soon his barbershop becomes a front for murder. Sweeney's creative accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, keeps looking to him for something he's incapable of giving her: love. Through mortal wounds and brilliant melodies, revenge and yearing loom large in this classic Sondheim piece. It's bloody chaos and a 100% can't-miss! Just don't eat the pie. This University Theatre production is staged in collaboration with KU Opera and features the KU Symphony Orchestra.
