Dr. John Gruesser (Research Scholar, Natural History Collections, Sam Houston State University; Emeritus Professor of English, Kean University) will be presenting his research on Sutton E. Griggs, along with his work on life and career of the Topeka-born African American painter, sculptor, book illustrator, and photographer Robert E. Bell (1878-1924), who did the cover image and internal illustrations for Griggs's fourth novel The Hindered Hand; Or, the Reign of the Repressionist (1905-1906).
