Please join the KU Office of Research Development for a virtual town hall where we will strategize about how to better meet the needs of KU researchers for major research equipment and instrumentation.

Town Hall: Funding Major Equipment Needs at KU
Thursday, Oct. 17
11:30 a.m.– 12:30 p.m.

Register on Zoom

Candan Tamerler and Erik Lundquist, associate vice chancellors for research, will share perspectives on seeking major equipment funding and how KU can better build collaborative teams before submitting grant applications.

In addition, to clarify which opportunities might be of interest to individual investigators or teams, Carol Burdsal (Director of Research Development) and Doug Bornemann (Associate Director of Research Development) will compare and contrast a number of different equipment funding opportunities, highlighting:

  • funding ranges and limits
  • discipline-specific opportunities
  • limited submission versus unrestricted opportunities

Lastly, we will provide a calendar-year view of major equipment/instrumentation funding opportunities to enable KU investigators to better plan their efforts, encourage the formation of collaborative teams, and generate more-competitive equipment grant applications.

If you require reasonable accommodations in order to participate in this event, please contact Gabriel Nehrbass by 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10 at gabriel.nehrbass@ku.edu.
