Please join the KU Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies (CREES) on Thursday November 2 at 6:30pm for a screening of the Turkish film Pocket Hercules: Naim Süleymanoğlu. The event will take place in Bailey Hall, Rm. 318. Light refreshments/Turkish snacks will be served.

Pocket Hercules: Naim Suleymanoglu is a Turkish biographical drama film directed by Ozer Feyzioglu, written by Barış Pirhasan and produced by Mustafa Uslu. The film is about Naim Suleymanoglu, nicknamed "Pocket Hercules," who started weightlifting at 10 years old. The film tracks his career from this first involvement in the sport until the Seoul Olympics in 1988. Naim won several European and world titles and was the youngest world record holder in weightlifting at 15 years old.
