Filmmaker Darren Lynn Bousman will appear in person as a guest speaker in Jon Niccum’s Basic Screenwriting class at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13. He will discuss his career in Hollywood and do a Q&A with students.  Anyone not in the class can join via Zoom. The link will be emailed to FMS students. Bousman is best known as the director and/or writer of the films “Saw II,” “Saw III,” “Saw IV,” “Spiral” and “Repo! The Genetic Opera.” His films have grossed more than half a billion dollars at the box office, and he is one of the few living directors to have helmed four films that opened at No. 1. He is currently in post-production on a film titled “Cello,” starring Jeremy Irons and Tobin Bell.

An Overland Park, Kansas, native, Bousman studied film at the University of Kansas for two years before heading to the coast.
